a. Windows 7 혹은 Windows 8.* 에서는 아래와 같은 버전으로 업그레이드 됨

 

b. Windows 8.1 Enterprise 에서 Windows 10 Enterprise 로 정상 업그레이드 됨
    (다만, Windows Update를 통한 자동 업그레이드를 지원하진 않음)

c. Windows 10 은 기본 K / KN (Media Player 미 포함) , x86 (없음) / x64 의 버전 트리 외에 
   CB / LTSB 의 버전으로 한번 더 나뉘어짐 CB는 일반적인 자동 업데이트를 강제하는 버전이고,
   LTSB 는 WSUS 등의 Delayed 업데이트 시스템을 사용하는 용도

 

Q. What is the Long Term Servicing Branch and Current Branch in Windows?
A. Windows 10 uses a new approach to providing updates to users. Traditionally Microsoft would release a version of Windows and then provide updates such as security and bug fixes, but not add any major, new functionality. Every few years Microsoft would release a new version of Windows that contains updates and new features but this meant customers would always have to wait years for new functionality. With Windows 10, Microsoft is giving users greater choice in how they receive new features with the introduction of a long-term servicing branch (LTSB) and a current branch (CB) version.

The LTSB is similar to how versions are delivered today with a new one delivered every couple of years and in between each new version Microsoft will provide security updates, bug fixes and so on. Alternatively, customers can choose to use the CB method which provides security updates, bug fixes, and new features every few months.

When each LTSB is released it will converge with the currently existing CB,  allowing customers to transition from CB to LTSB, in the event they decide they noo longer want to receive updates so frequently. Customers using LTSB will be able to upgrade between LTSB builds and likely one additional time prior LTSB (current Windows 8.1 would count as a LTSB). This is better visualized in the image below.

d. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 에는 Edge 브라우저가 포함 되어있지 않음

 But the reason Microsoft won't provide Edge to Enterprise users on LTSB is because the company expects to roll out new features and feature updates to Edge on a regular basis, as both Gartner and Microsoft officials note. That means it would be kind of pointless to include the evolving Edge browser if it's not going to be updated.

e. 업데이트 시 "시스템에서 사용하는 파티션은 업데이트를 할 수 없습니다." 오류 메시지
    하다가 빡쳐서 그냥 클린 설치 함 -_- 

작업 방법 1 : 볼륨 축소

  1. 시작 화면에서 키보드로 “디스크 관리”을 입력합니다.
    (     키보드의 Windows + W 를 누른 뒤 검색 칸에 디스크 관리를 입력합니다. )
  2. 검색 결과에서 하드 디스크 파티션 만들기 및 포맷을 클릭합니다.
  3. C 드라이브(SSD)를 마우스 오른쪽 버튼 클릭 – 볼륨 축소를 클릭합니다.
  4. 축소할 공간 입력에 400(MB)입력 후, 축소를 클릭합니다.
  5. 아래의 작업을 진행합니다.

작업 방법 2 : 파티션 생성 및 볼륨 문자 할당

  1. “할당되지 않음”을 마우스 오른쪽 버튼 클릭 -새 단순 볼륨을 차례대로 클릭합니다.
  2. 다음 –(단순 볼륨 크기 변경 없이)다음 –(드라이브 문자 할당 변경 없이)다음 –(파일 시스템 변경 없이)다음 -마침을 차례대로 클릭합니다.
    동적 디스크로 전환되며, 부팅이 불가할 수 있는 메시지가 발생할 수 있습니다. 
    드라이브 문자 예시     : G, 파일 시스템 기본 값 : NTFS
  3. 아래의 작업을 진행합니다.

작업 방법 3 : 시스템 파티션 지정

  1. 시작 –모든 프로그램 –보조 프로그램 –명령 프롬프트 마우스 오른쪽 버튼 클릭 –관리자 권한으로 실행을 차례대로 클릭합니다.
  2. 아래의 명령어를 입력하고 Enter를 누릅니다.
    BCDBOOT C:\Windows /s G:
    Exit
  3. 아래의 작업을 진행합니다.

작업 방법 4 : 파티션 활성화 및 드라이브 문자 제거

  1. 시작 – 컴퓨터 마우스 오른쪽 버튼 클릭 – 관리 – 디스크 관리를 차례대로 클릭합니다.
  2. G:를 마우스 오른쪽 버튼 클릭 –파티션을 활성 파티션으로 표시를 클릭합니다.
  3. G:를 마우스 오른쪽 버튼 클릭 –드라이브 문자 및 경로 변경을 클릭합니다.
  4. 드라이브 문자 및 경로를 변경하십시오에서 제거를 클릭합니다.
    볼륨의 드라이브 문자를 제거하면 프로그램을 더 이상 실행하지 못할 수도 있습니다. 이 드라이브 문자를 제거하시겠습니까? 에서 예를 클릭합니다.
  5. 디스크 관리를 종료하고, 컴퓨터를 다시 시작합니다.
  6. Windows 8.1 업그레이드를 다시 시도해봅니다.

g. Windows 10 Education 버전은 Enterprise 기반의 교육용 버전 (academic VL 을 통해서 제공)

Windows 10 Education builds on Windows 10 Enterprise, and is designed to meet the needs of schools – staff, administrators, teachers and students. This edition will be available through academic Volume Licensing, and there will be paths for schools and students using Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro devices to upgrade to Windows 10 Education.
